We're less than a week away from the start of the preseason. Here's a look at what you may have missed around NFL training camps on Monday, July 28: • The Vonta Leach saga is officially over as the Pro Bowl fullback was re-signed by the Baltimore Ravens. "Having Vonta back gives you a physical presence for sure with your offense – short yardage, goal line," said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. "Also, it's a leadership presence. Obviously, we've been hopeful that this would happen all along. This is not something that we weren't hoping for, and it worked out in our favor." • A few days after being released by the Denver Broncos, veteran linebacker Joe Mays officially signed with the Houston Texans on Monday. Mays adds depth at inside linebacker as Darryl Sharpton is on the "non-football injury" list to start training camp. • Another day, another Philadelphia Eagles lost for the season due to a torn ACL. This time, it was linebacker Jason Phillips, who was scheduled to provide depth at inside linebacker this season. Phillips was signed to a two-year, $1.46 million contract on March 15 that included $150,000 in guaranteed money. Phillips, who tore the ligament in his right knee, will join wide receiver Jeremy Maclin on injured reserve. • Chicago Bears defensive end Turk McBride suffered a torn Achilles' tendon and will miss the 2013 season. • After losing wide receiver Armon Binns to a torn ACL and MCL, the Miami Dolphins are bringing in veteran wide receiver Laurent Robinson for a workout on Tuesday, Barry Jackson reports. • Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert left Monday's practice with a sprained right ankle, an injury that occurred as a result of friendly fire. Gabbert was kicked in the shin by guard Uche Nwaneri.
